Trusting the Process: Wrestling, Family, and the Hidden Battles of Success - Jake Voss
Welcome back to Kleitsch's Corner on the Life With Nick Podcast. Today, we are back in the booth with Head Coach of West Delaware Wrestling, Jake Voss!
We begin the podcast with detailing Jake taking over the wrestling program from his Father and the struggles that come with that. We then work into the Family Oriented culture that West Delaware has built which involves much hard work and sacrifice from not only the wrestlers, but their families as well. Next, we speak on the importance of knowing and owning your job on the team and why bringing energy and effort makes such an impact whether you are a starter or not.
Along with this, we detail how each wrestler entering the program has the ability to write their own story which is unique to the West Delaware program. We shift into what makes the program elite which includes West Delaware's Creed, Controlling your inner circle and getting better each and every day! We begin to wrap up the podcast by discussing a major paradigm shift which is Jake's mantra of Doing Hard Things is Fun and why this is so powerful. When they are trusting the process, develop their north star and enjoy doing hard things, the outcome has the opportunity to produce championships! Our concluding point of the podcast is introducing the concept of having Extreme Balance and how to leverage that concept in your daily life and as an athlete.
Enjoy!
